Spurs target World Cup defender

Spurs have targeted Swiss international Ricardo Rodriguez from Ac Milan despite the defender only moving to the San Siro last summer from Bundesliga side  Vfl Wolfsburg.

The left-back signed a five year deal, which will keep him with the Rossinieri until 2021 however according to reports in Italy he’s already being linked with moves elsewhere.

The 25 year-old’s future at Milan remains uncertain if a report from Tutto Mercato Web are to be believed and he is attracting interest from England and Germany.

The Italian publication claims Spurs and Borussia Dortmund are in the race to secure Rodriguez’s signature this summer with TMW claiming Dortmund have bid for bid for his services but that Tottenham have “made a poll for the player”, which means an initial contact. Rodriguez, however, does not want to leave Milan this summer but the report also mentions that Milan have already lined up his replacement, just in case.

They have identified Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi as a transfer target, who will replace Rodriguez, if the latter leaves the San Siro.
