According to ESPN the club are set to open talks with talented youngster Reo Griffiths this week on a first professional contract in a bid to ward off interest from other clubs.
17 year old Griffiths has scored an incredible 34 goals in domestic competitions for our Under 18’s this season, including four in the 9-0 victory over Arsenal last week.
As a result of his form he is being tracked by a number of top clubs across Europe because of his scoring — including Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, whose head of recruitment, Paul Mitchell, formerly held that role at Tottenham.
The club have high hopes for Griffiths in the future and would like to tie him to a long term professional contract rather than risk losing him for a minimal development compensation fee.
What do we think about young Mr Griffiths. He seems to have all the right attributes to succeed. Is it worth sending him on loan to gain first team experience or should Pochettino give him a chance with the senior team. Let us know your thoughts below
Have something to tell us about this article?
yes give him a go as Kane back-up cant be worse than the other options which is zero
Give the young guy a chance, do no worse than llorrente.
He’s only 17, so let him keep doing what hes doing for another season. Surely he is better to stay here undr the watchful eye of Poch, than be loaned out.
This is easy…Poch and Spurs know What to do and we look forward to see what Reo can do in our new stadion next year☺️⚽️☺️
Give him a chance if he has the talent and good attitude towards the game I’ll say yes
