Spurs to table £38m bid for Inter striker

Tottenham are prepared to offer £38m for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, 23, and have sent representatives to Italy to agree a deal for the Argentina international.

The report comes courtesy of respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who has a proven track record when is comes to transfer gossip.

Apparently, Daniel Levy is prepared to make an offer for the forward with Inter reluctant to sell but will weigh up the decision once a firm bid has been made by the Premier League club.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are also running with the story and claim that Atletico Madrid are also interested in the striker but have tabled a £29million offer which is well below the figure linked with Spurs. If he ends up joining Spurs I will be using my bonus code to bet on us winning the league.

It goes on to report that Atletico boss Diego Simeone has even been in contact with Icardi’s wife to try and persuade him that he should make the move to the Champions League finalists.

The Argentina striker joined Inter Milan in 2013 and has scored 47 goals for the Serie A outfit.
