Spurs tracking Baggies World Cup bound defender

According to ESPN Tottenham have joined the list of clubs tracking West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi.

Darren Moore’s side face a battle to keep hold of Hegazi this summer following their relegation from the Premier League with reports suggesting that Hegazi has a £2.5 million release clause in his contract, but those reports are wide of the mark.

It describes how Hegazi, who is set to feature for Egypt at next month’s World Cup finals, was one of West Brom’s shining lights this season despite their relegation after joining West Brom from Al Ahly originally on loan in the summer of 2017, before making the move permanent five months later.

It adds that the big central defender started all 38 Premier League games for West Brom and his impressive performances have brought him to the attention of a number of clubs.

The powers that be at Spurs are planning to bolster our defensive options as it seems the departure of Toby Alderweireld is inevitable and Hegazi has emerged on our list of possible replacements for the Belgium international.
West Ham United and Leicester City are also keeping tabs on Hegazi as they look to improve their squads for next season, with West Brom bracing themselves for offers in the defender during this month’s transfer window.
