Spurs youths hammer Arsenal

The clubs youth side today handed out a humiliating 9-0 drubbing to north London rivals Arsenal in their final match of the Under-18 Premier League season.

Reo Griffiths was the star of the show once again for coach Scott Parker’s side, scoring four goals and laying on another three as our young lads took revenge for the 6-0 hammering they had  received in the reverse fixture.

Rodel Richards scored two in the first half as We went in 3-0 up at the break before the annihilation took hold in the second half, David Markanday adding to his goal before the interval and 16-year-old Mazeed Ugungbo putting the ball into his own net for Arsenal, who suffered their worst defeat in youth competition since 2011.

Griffiths has been in incredible form for Spurs’ youth sides this season, scoring 23 goals in 18 games, 11 more than his nearest rival in the scoring charts.

The win means the U18s are almost certain to end the season in fourth place in the Premier League South, whilst Arsenal, whose final league game of the campaign will be against Chelsea on May 2, will finish second.

Spurs will be looking for another striker in the summer if as expected Fernando Llorente departs. Will they promote young Griffiths? Let us know your thoughts.
