VIDEO: Sherwood – Managing Spurs big pressure

Tim Sherwood admitted that Tottenham Hotspur need to be winning their home matches when he spoke to the press after the 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

Christian Eriksen gave Spurs the lead with a stunning free-kick, only to be pegged back by poor defending to allow the visitors back into the match.

It’s interesting that Sherwood mentions the fact that the stats mean nothing – something which was highlighted under AVB’s reign when we would dominate possession, especially at Man City away.

Sherwood told the media: “I think the expectations… there’s no demands. The fact, which I want to do, is win as many games as I possibly can – if we do that eveybody’s happy.

“To manage Tottenham obviously brings its own pressures, to play for Tottenham brings its own pressures. You have to win, especially in front of your home fans, and I’m no fool, I know that you can play fantastically well and all the stats (statistics) stand up… it means nothing, you need to win the football match, you know, you don’t want to insult anyone’s intelligence with that.”
