Tottenham Target Opens Up on Speculation

19 year old winger Cengiz Under, tipped as the ‘Turkish Dybala’, has commented on his rumoured future away from Basaksehir, with good news and bad news for Spurs.

Last month, Turkish sports outlet Ajanspor had claimed both Basaksehir and Tottenham Hotspur had agreed a fee for the wonderkid and that a transfer was all but imminent.

However, 30 days later and there is still no news.

Recently, the promising forward opened up on his desire to leave Basaksehir and gave Tottenham’s hopes of signing the youngster both a boost and a setback at the same time.

In an interview with Turkish daily Milliyet, Under said:

“Among the leagues I want to play in are La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but I want to play in the Premier League the most.”

Under’s preference to play in England was the good news. The bad news however:

“Every player wants to play in a team like Manchester United or Chelsea,” He added. “I believe that one day I will play for one of those teams.”

Though it reads badly, let’s not jump to any conclusions. We know how papers spin words and invent as they write. For all we know, Under was hinting at the calibre of clubs he wants to join. Only time will tell with this one.
