Trippier’s moment of class following England victory

Tottenham full back Kieran Trippier put in another stand out display as Gareth Southgate’s England heroes beat Sweden to reach a first World Cup semi final in 28 years for the Three Lions.

However it was post game that the Bury born star showed a moment of true class

The right-back briefly celebrated with his team mates following the success  before going around several Sweden players and consoling them about their loss.

One of England’s players of the tournament Trippier offered a hand to defender Ludwig Augustinsson and goalkeeper Robin Olsen, pulling them to their feet after sinking to the turf.

The former-Burnley star has enjoyed a terrific tournament so far winning a new legion of fans and now has won even more fans following his moments of class after the final whistle.

Dele Alli netted England’s second after a stop start tournament for him so far. Harry Kane, though not on the scoresheet, lead the line superbly whole Eric Dier was a late substitute, sent on late to help secure victory.

More performances like this and football may well come home
