United quote “silly prices” for Tottenham target

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have quoted ‘silly prices’ to Tottenham for French star Anthony Martial, after the clubs  failed to reach an agreement over Toby Alderweireld.

Both clubs have been  in transfer talks over the duo all summer however a deal remains a long way off for either player to switch teams, despite both wishing to move on.

Martial’s is keen for regular football elsewhere and Alderweireld wants to quit Tottenham with his contract running down and two Premier League clubs have been in transfer talks over the duo this summer.

However, the Manchester Evening News say United have responded by quoting exorbitant prices for the ex-Monaco star.

They want around £60m and their short shrift response to Tottenham’s approach was seen as inevitable due to the Alderweireld saga.

The MEN also adds that  both situations could rumble on and on with the Premier League transfer window, though, is due to shut on August 9th which is just six weeks away now.
