Wanyama nearing return

Mauricio Pochettino had some  positive news with regards midfielder Victor Wanyama’s fitness according to a report on the clubs website.

The report says how the Kenyan enforcer has been out since September with a knee injury, however it says that he is progressing well in his rehabilitation work outdoors.

Pochettino added:”We’re positive, his knee is reacting well but it’s still too early to say when it’s possible for him to join the group,” said Mauricio after training on Tuesday, ahead of our final Champions League group fixture against APOEL.

Pochettino continued: “We need to assess him day by day, week by week and we’ll see in the next few weeks if he can join the group, but yes, he’s in a good mood and we are happy so far. He has to keep working and if all goes well, hopefully he can join the group as soon as possible.”

Terrific news ahead of the festive fixtures where the squad is likely to be tested to the limit.  He’s certainly been a big miss.
