Conte opens up on his Spurs ‘vision’ and talks he will have with Levy and Paratici

Antonio Conte has opened up on his vision for Tottenham Hotspur this week, claiming it is the same as any other club he has managed – he wants to fight to win.

The Spurs head coach also added that he would stop if his vision does not match up with that of the club, revealing he would have talks with Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici at the end of the season to see what their visions are for Tottenham.

Spurs enjoyed a huge uptick in form during Conte’s early months in charge, but have been met with shocking inconsistency since the turn of the new year. The team is currently in the middle of a strange win-one lose-one trend.

With Arsenal now six points ahead and with a game in hand over their North London rivals, the race for the top four seems to be an unlikely one for the Lilywhites.

On his vision, Conte said (Football London): “Honestly I have my vision and the vision is this, it does not change. The vision was the same in the past, the vision is the same in the present, the vision will be the same in future.

“My vision it will be this. I stop if the vision of someone is not the same,” he said. “I have a vision. One vision. I want to fight to win. I want to fight to be competitive.

“I want to feel that we only have one per cent but we need one per cent to win the title or a trophy in which we participate. We have to feel this. This is my vision and I continue to have this vision.

“Then I know that there are different visions and many clubs have different visions but I think which is my vision and the vision that brought me to be competitive and for sure I follow my vision in any case.

“At this moment the best thing we can do is to be focused on the present. Then, at the end of the season, then everyone has to speak about their own vision and I speak about my vision, and I think also the club will speak about their vision, and Paratici will speak about his vision, and then we will see.

“After this, we will see now is too early. We have to be in the present, the future is very far in this moment. For sure there will be a moment when we will go to take decisions.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

This sounds very much, once again, like Conte making it clear to the board he will only stick around if they match his ambition and back him in the transfer market. This squad needs a big overhaul and Conte doesn’t want to be here for five years. Give him the tools he needs to win now, or regret it.
