Huge blow for Spurs as key players are missing from training

Tottenham Hotspur held a training session earlier today and there were some key faces missing.

Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele all sat out the practise at Hotspur Way ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League encounter with Barcelona at Wembley.

Dembele and Vertonghen both sustained injuries in the first half of the 2-0 Premier League victory at Huddersfield Town on Saturday and had to be replaced with Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama.

Dele Alli and Serge Aurier also sat out today with respective hamstring and thigh problems.

Eriksen missed the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium along with the Carabao Cup win against Watford due to an abdominal strain.

There was a glint of positive news when Hugo Lloris made his return to training and could be set to replace Paulo Gazzaniga between the posts.
