Kane wants Spurs stay

According to The Mirror Mauricio Pochettino insists Harry Kane wants to stay and win trophies at Tottenham.

The article describes how Pochettino claimed Kane’s trophy-winning ambitions are shared by everyone at the club after former boss Andre Villas-Boas said he would have to leave “if he has a hunger for trophies and notoriety.”

Pochettino said: “I respect all opinions. We are all here to develop and help the club to achieve what the club wants and if it is possible of course to win titles.Harry is very happy here and of course Harry wants to win titles like us and our supporters but I respect all opinion.”

We last won silverware 10 years ago when they lifted the 2008 League Cup and since Kane broke into the first team, the closest we have come to ending that drought is being runners up in the 2015 Capital One Cup final and finishing third and second in the league in the last two seasons.

Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Spurs in 2013, did stick his oar in this week when he said: “If he has a hunger for trophies and for notoriety he would have to leave Spurs. The trophy cabinet is still what is missing for this great club. That is in the end what footballers chase – glory, winning. It depends on Harry and his ambitions and how he sees his career going forward.”

The article also adds that we have made contingency plans should the new stadium not be ready by the start of the new season with Daniel Levy telling the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust at a meeting last week that the club are likely to request playing our first few matches away from home but the club remain confident that the work is on schedule and that they will be in their new home in time for the 2018/19 season.

    1. Don’t you find it amazing that every day every week and every month, various media outlets both home and abroad (mainly in Spain – Real Madrid driven), have a fixation with Spurs, Daniel Levy and Harry Kane in particular? The number of has been’s urged for their opinion on Kane staying or leaving Spurs is both monotonous and boring in the extreme. More money and silverware, the sale of Bale and Modric is always the stick by which they attempt to beat Spurs with.
It’s as if there’s an agenda. It doesn’t matter what Pochettino has stated. Time and time again the man has said that the club will only sell the players they want to sell and not be dictated to by anyone. He has told anyone who cares to listen that Harry Kane is very happy and wants to stay with the club and that the club has no intention of selling Harry Kane as he’s vital to the clubs progression as they enter a new era. Indeed Kane himself has said on numerous occasions that he’s very happy to stay with his boyhood club as long as they keep progressing and heading in the right direction which they most certainly are doing. The nonces in the press the media and pundit/has been alike just don’t get it. They continue with the same recurring theme. I’m sure the nonsense will continue throughout the Summer right up to kick off of the new season.

      • Ray, You are spot on with all you say. A V B strikes me as a bit bitter after his sacking and as for journalists-are they actually inside Harry’s head? Of course he is ambitious but his ambition seems to be strongly linked with Spurs and it’s a pretty good bet that maybe this, and certainly next season ,we’ll start hauling in the silverware.
The new stadium is ‘state of the art’ and clearly you need a ‘state of the art’ team to go in it.
So give it a rest journos and pundits and give us your dear old mums recipe for a perfect apple pie instead.
