Kane wants Spurs stay

According to The Mirror Mauricio Pochettino insists Harry Kane wants to stay and win trophies at Tottenham.

The article describes how Pochettino claimed Kane’s trophy-winning ambitions are shared by everyone at the club after former boss Andre Villas-Boas said he would have to leave “if he has a hunger for trophies and notoriety.”

Pochettino said: “I respect all opinions. We are all here to develop and help the club to achieve what the club wants and if it is possible of course to win titles.Harry is very happy here and of course Harry wants to win titles like us and our supporters but I respect all opinion.”

We last won silverware 10 years ago when they lifted the 2008 League Cup and since Kane broke into the first team, the closest we have come to ending that drought is being runners up in the 2015 Capital One Cup final and finishing third and second in the league in the last two seasons.

Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Spurs in 2013, did stick his oar in this week when he said: “If he has a hunger for trophies and for notoriety he would have to leave Spurs. The trophy cabinet is still what is missing for this great club. That is in the end what footballers chase – glory, winning. It depends on Harry and his ambitions and how he sees his career going forward.”

The article also adds that we have made contingency plans should the new stadium not be ready by the start of the new season with Daniel Levy telling the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust at a meeting last week that the club are likely to request playing our first few matches away from home but the club remain confident that the work is on schedule and that they will be in their new home in time for the 2018/19 season.
