Report reveals growing belief about Ryan Mason at Tottenham

A report from the Sunday Mirror has claimed that there is a growing belief in North London that Ryan Mason could be considered for the permanent Tottenham head coach role (02/05/21 – page 69).

Mason was named interim head coach for the rest of the current season after Jose Mourinho was sacked following a 17-month stint at the Premier League club.

The Spurs academy graduate, who was forced to retire early due to a head injury, won his first game in charge of Tottenham against Southampton last month.

Mason had to prepare for a Carabao Cup final against Man City, just six days after he was handed the interim head coach role.

Unfortunately, although Tottenham managed to keep Man City out for 81 minutes, the goal and result seemed inevitable due to the Citizens’ dominance in the game.

Mason bounced back against Sheffield United yesterday evening with a 4-0 victory in the hope that Spurs can still make a late charge for a place in the top four and Champions League qualification.

The Sunday Mirror now claim that Mason is emerging as a genuine contender for the permanent role and the higher-ups at Spurs believe he would appeal to the fans.
