Video: Match of the Day pundit believes transfer window closure has helped Spurs

Former Manchester United and England striker Dion Dublin believes that the closure of the European transfer window has helped Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side returned to winning ways yesterday after an emphatic first half display from the home side saw them brush aside Crystal Palace.
A brace from Heung-min Son along with an own goal from van Aanholt put them 3-0 up inside 23 minutes with Erik Lamela rounding off the scoring in the 42nd minute.
Dublin feels that the players will look amongst themselves and now get on with playing football whilst also insisting the challenge for Mauricio Pochettino is to keep his players at the club.

Opinion

While the closure of the transfer window will certainly help, there was a noticeable difference to Tottenham’s style of play against Palace.

Rather than trying to play out from our own six yard box, we moved the ball forward directly with pace and it certainly helped to create space and put the visitors to the sword.
