The new season is just around the corner, and although it feels like exciting times ahead under Jose Mourinho the weaknesses in our squad still remain.

Spurs have one of the best attacking line-ups in the Premier League with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung Min Son amongst others but the major problems lie in the defence.

It is no secret that the club have struggled to replace the hole that was left at right back when Kyle Walker departed in 2017. (BBC Sport)

Tottenham fans worldwide will certainly be looking for the club to spend more money before heading onto the Betting Exchange Sites in India in order to bet on the outcome of how they will progress in the Premier League and Europa League.  The top betting exchanges have much better odds than traditional fixed odds bookies.

Here is list of the top five right sided defenders that Spurs should look to sign this window.

Zeki Celik

Top of the list is Zeki Celik who is currently playing in Ligue 1 for Lille and is rumoured to be one of the club’s top targets to fill in at right back. (FootballFancast)

The Turkish international played 23 times for his club in the league last season helping them to an impressive fourth place finish. (Transfermarkt)

Celik, who is only 23, also has Champions League experience so would be a great asset to bring into the side.

However, with the deal reportedly subject to whether or not Serge Aurier remains a Spurs player it could be a while before any genuine move for the defender is made.

Tomas Tavares

Next up on the list of right backs Daniel Levy should attempt to bring into the club is Benfica starlet Tomas Tavares.

The 19-year-old emerged on the scene for the Portuguese giants for the first-time last season and was quick to impress.

Tavares made 12 appearances in Portugal’s top division as well as five in the Champions League. (Transfermarkt)

However, with other European clubs reportedly interested in the youngster, Daniel Levy needs to make the right offer in order to bring him to the Premier League. (Football Transfer Tavern)

Matt Doherty

Another player is already Spurs bound is Wolves defender Matt Doherty.

The 28-year-old would be a great option to fill the current weakness in the Spurs squad and one that would not be a risky investment for Levy.

Doherty has already proved himself in the Premier League and with 75 senior appearances in England’s top division already under his belt. (Transfermarkt)

The Republic of Ireland international has been reported to be on the clubs radar so could be in a Spurs shirt by the time the season commences. (Football.London)

Timothy Castagne

The 24-year-old played a huge role in Atalanta’s league campaign as well as their remarkable run in the Champions League last season.

Castagne, played total of 33 times for the Italian side throughout the 2019/20 season and managed to get on the scoresheet twice and rack up three assists.

The Belgium international has also been reported to have mentioned the fact that his time in Italy could be coming to an end. (Football.London)

Bringing an experienced right back into the side would only bring positives to the club and could be the answer to Spurs’ defensive woes.

Max Aarons

To complete the list of the top five right backs that Spurs should look to bring into the club is highly rated Norwich defender Max Aarons.

Although it has been reported that Jose Mourinho has his doubts on the player, he could still be a potential option for the club. (Express)

The 20-year-old impressed many during his debut season in the Premier League last campaign and has been on the radar for many top clubs around the continent.

Due to the Canaries’ relegation to the Championship, the youngster could be looking for a way out of the club in the search of staying in the topflight.
