    Latest rumours

Let's hope that Vertonghen and Alderweirald form a really solid partnership and show some much needed leadership at the back. With Dier and Wimmer both having great potential and Fazio (if he stays) providing additional cover - it finally looks on paper like the CB role is sorted for a few seasons.

Agree Kaboul was a good player on his day - but seemed to lose pace and confidence after a series of injuries, then stayed out of the team. Good luck to him, and thanks for being a Spurs player, good for both parties that he's moved on. Now, can we please pick a Club Captain who is actually playing in the side regularly???

    Latest rumours

Speculation today about ongoing talks to sell Soldado to Sevilla for £11m and Kaboul to Sunderland. Happy to see both players out the door ASAP.

    Lloris injury

At least it will stop him signing a contract with another club, assuming it's his writing hand...

Another player I've never heard of.

Another midfielder? Got enough of them. Need to sell some first!

Yedlin playing anywhere would be a shock.

    Latest rumours

Assuming Alderweirald is in, I think that means we have 7 senior players competing for two CB roles - Vertonghen, Alderweirald, Dier, Wimmer, Fazio, Kaboul, Chiriches. With 5 choices at LB/RB (Rose, Davies, Walker, Trippier, Yedlin) it is now time to start selling some CBs ASAP, or maybe farm some out on loan.

hahnemann thinks world cup ball is bad invention

"Cover with a lid to keep flies out. Be careful not to get it on your skin and be warned, it can be smelly." Amongst all the nonsense, there are some wise words for us all.

    Latest rumours

Capoue gone (good) but all looking very complicated with the Alderweirald transfer, legal issues involving Saints and buy-out clauses. It wouldn't be a Spurs summer without at least one long drawn out transfer saga...

    Latest rumours

My Everton mate at work says McCarthy's on much less per week than many of his team mates and so that one could be an option. Don't know anything about this Super Mario fella!

Happy to see them all go ASAP. Whoever signed Chiriches should leave along with him!

    Latest rumours

So Holtby gone. Appreciated his passion and effort - he did have some potential. Not good enough for our best 16 though I don't think. Gradually we are shifting some squad players out...

    Latest rumours

Liverpool at it again - 6 new signings now with addition of Clyne from S'ton. Doing business early is good, but too many new players causes disruption.

Surely we can't buy any more new flops though?!

    Latest rumours

Let's hope he's our last very expensive foreign flop and the first of several to leave and get off the wage bill. Made no real impact and kept potential homegrown talent out of the squad.

    Latest rumours

Yes get them in - shift out Townsend (inconsistent) and Lennon (past his best).

What id really like is to resign Modric. Can I start this as a rumour?
  19. BlockFeet

    Andros Townsend

I just wish he would at least be given some time on the left wing, just to see what happens. Why not just swap sides with the other winger for 20 mins to mix it up?
  20. BlockFeet

    Hugo for United

Agree Vorm would defo need competition, whatever happens. I suppose it comes down to whether he would be the new 1st choice or remain as the 2nd choice if Lloris goes. Is he good enough?
  21. BlockFeet

    Micah Richards

I guess I'm just hoping that there is some truth to this rumour and that this stems from the agent leaking that they are trying to engineer a move to Spurs, because that's actually where Richards wants to come and play.
  22. BlockFeet

    Hugo for United

IF he goes, is Vorm good enough? I know Vorm is not as good as Lloris in most aspects. The biggest concern is that he may not be able to continue as a 'sweeper' behind a high line of pressing defenders. But would Vorm be sufficient or would we need to invest big in another better GK? I've hardly seen enough of Vorm, but he looks decent enough to me in other aspects of his game. Would this be a priority for our limited budget?
  23. BlockFeet

    Micah Richards

Shouldn't Richards be banging our door down to join Spurs? We are the 5th placed team in prem, final of one cup, new stadium looming, good blend of kids coming through, respected coach/manager, in 2nd tier European competition. BUT, we have no real consistent defensive leaders (other than our world class GK and attacking flair of Rose) so it's surely a great opportunity to come in, cement a starting place, make a difference to a good side and potentially ressurect his England career? The 'Top 4' aren't going to go for him, so why not come to Spurs?

    Poch

It's really the midfield I'm on about. I would say that Capoue, Stambouli, Bebtaleb, Mason and Paulinho are a similar 'type' of midfield player in our squad. None of them score goals, they aren't dangerous dribblers, they aren't dead ball specialists, they aren't creative playmakers with a huge range of passing. What they all do is break up play, run, tackle, make simple passes, track back and protect the back four. You need one or two players of this type in a squad - not five! Bentaleb has been solid and dependable this season. Personally I think Mason has put a shift in too and I like his passion and commitment. We've hardly seen anything of Capoue or Stambouli, presumably they are either crap in training or Poch just thinks Mason and Bentaleb are better. Paulinho has been a total flop. Agree Poch needs to change tactics but I do think the squad lacks balance overall. It's nothing that a summer shake-up can't sort out though.

    Poch

To get back on topic of thread, what I'm saying is that I'm disappointed with the end of the season, but I do think we should give Poch (and his coaching/recruiting team) a chance, so one more summer and season for me!
