PL West Ham Vs SPURS Sunday 21st Feb 12:00 k.o.

It’s well worth trying at least anyway. The current approach is not working, everyone is very used to defending against our stale attacking system, we just aren’t hard to play against really. At least Bale would offer something different! Just reflecting on the match today and the first one vs WHam earlier this season. Lanzini scores that screamer and Bale hits the bar with something similar. It’s a very fine line. I also note there were hardly any of us (me included) who wanted Lingard at Spurs when that transfer story did the rounds. Now he’s got 3 goals in 3 - and is a match winner today with a nice finish, that out lot would have snatched at, with no composure. Proof that you can’t necessarily write a player off!

PL West Ham Vs SPURS Sunday 21st Feb 12:00 k.o.

This one is on the players today IMO. You can of course wish other players had started and the system was different, but the 11 we had out across the 90+ mins easily created more than enough chances to win this match. A mixture of poor finishing and some old-fashioned bad luck did for us today. So annoying and of course it had to be against West Ham.

What Do We Do With Bale ?

For the money Bale is on and for what he’s done when he’s played - then it’s been a disaster so far in terms of impact on the team/results. It’s like going back to an ex-girlfriend - rarely works out. Far better to just accept its over, cherish the good memories but then move on. Sure, you can continue to admire her from afar, lurk on her Facebook profile and potentially brush up against her at a mutual friend’s wedding - but that’s it. It did seem to help galvanise supporters and excite the squad in the first part of the season, but it just looks like another ‘Jose player mess’ now - even if this one is more complex. No idea if the purchase made commercial sense for the Spurs brand (shirt sales, PR etc.) but I feel his playing chances could have been given to someone younger (Clarke?) or someone outcast (Dele?) and we’d have been better off. Unless he kicks on massively from now then he should return to Madrid at end of season and his vast monthly wage should either be spent on a more impactful free agent (there are many good players available in the summer), be used to bump up Kane/Son’s wages to tie them down with improved contracts or to help fund some new purchases - Reguillon plus several others!

What To Do With Hugo ...

Agree. In their prime, i think the natural captains in the squad are (or were) Lloris, Toby, Hojbjerg and Kane. You’ve summed up Lloris already and Toby is clearly on the down turn compared to his brilliant best. A midfielder is a better choice for me than a CF, so Hojbjerg gets it. Kane leads by his actions and effort anyway, Hojbjerg can marshall the other players all match.

    Stadium Naming Guy Hired ....

Wont be too many global mega brands looking to buy naming rights for massive stadiums right now. In many ways we built and opened the stadium at exactly the wrong time, which is just so typical of Spurs. Amazon, Uber, Nike - I’m not bothered at all as long as the name doesn’t sound daft.

Man City Vs SPURS Sat 13th Feb 17.30pm

Lamela to be an utter shithouse and piss them off. Ndombele to dazzle with skills. Lucas and Bergwijn to find some end product. Hojbjerg to put recent soft displays behind him. Son & Kane lethal as usual. Aurier back firing. Reguillon making Zidane eat his words. Dier in lumbering beast mode with Toby rolling back the years. Lloris shot stopping like his prime. It’s happening my friends against City! Spurs to lose 3-1.

FA Cup 5th Round SPURS vs Everton Wed 10/02/21

Yes we was good earlier this season too in several matches until injury and Covid breach. Glad to have him back - he’ll be needed. I can just see his shit-house tactics ruffing up City a bit...

FA Cup 5th Round SPURS vs Everton Wed 10/02/21

Bad news that we’re out, but some positives: - attacking play, something like 30 shots and we actually looked ok at corners for the first time in years - no injuries (as far as I know) - match fitness gains for some players who’ve been out a bit - one cup final in the bag anyway, still in EL and (just about) Champs league hunt - no FA Cup fixture congestion - we now have proof Winks is a bit shit and Dele needs to go

SPURS Vs W.B.A. Sunday 7/2/21 12 noon kick off

Almost every tackle we make to win back possession seems to get declared a foul. Almost every tackle they make doesn’t. Maybe they are all niggly fouls, but it seems very one sided.

Is Mourinho On Thin Ice ??

I know - no chance. But we can still have fun speculating... it’s all we’ve got at the moment (plus watching Skippy doing well!) One reason NOT to sack him is you have to someone to step in and caretake. So is Redknapp your number 1 realistic choice? What about Ledley? Rafa? Howe or Timmy Sherwood?
  14. BlockFeet

    Sherwood rips into Jose

Stick Sherwood on the potential list of caretakers (if Jose is pushed out) on your other topic?

Is Mourinho On Thin Ice ??

Some interesting ideas and I like the thinking. Redknapp could be an option. But who else would/could we realistically consider as a caretaker if Levy did push Jose out? Just some random thoughts, not in any order... Ledley King Rafa Benitez Eddie Howe? I don’t think Jose will leave soon either. I think we’re at a point when our first 11 (plus one/two others AT MOST) can compete with anyone, but I don’t think our squad depth is anywhere near enough, it looks better on paper than they seem in reality. If Lloris, Aurier, Toby, Rodon, Reguillon, Hojbjerg, NDombele, GLC, Son, Kane, Bergwijn were all fit and playing I feel we can beat anyone, even playing Jose’s awful style. If you take too many out (at once) then we struggle!

Utterly shit by us so far, almost to a man. Dier completely brain dead.

Brighton v the mighty SPURS 19.15 Sunday live on sky sports

It’s a complete and utter capitulation from being top of the league. Kane misses that sitter of a free header to (probably) put us 3 points clear and now we’ve got relegation form!

Yes Tanguy was ok as usual, until they kicked lumps out of him. I thought Alderweireld and Lloris did ok for me. Also Vinicius when he came on, and Lucas I suppose. But it’s very slim pickings and none of them were all that great. What a shit end to the weekend. Edit: sissoko can have a tiny bit of kudos for playing out of position to cover for his stropy mate.

Brighton v the mighty SPURS 19.15 Sunday live on sky sports

He’s having a great season statistically and seemed delighted and happy a few weeks back. We’ve just become so predictable now - it’s getting tiresome watching teams like Brighton (actually that sounds disrespectful but you know what I mean) piss all over us in almost every way.

Brighton v the mighty SPURS 19.15 Sunday live on sky sports

I appreciate that his best mate and chief creator Kane isn’t playing but what has has happened to Son??? He looks completely shit at the moment. Dwells on the ball, misplaces most passes and just generally awful. This from a player who literally couldn’t stop scoring/assisting recently. He’s not signed contract yet either which is worrying.

Quality Versus trash AKA Spurs V Liverpool

He should 100% be the captain I think. The ideal position on the pitch for a skipper. Perhaps disrespectful to Lloris whilst he’s still first choice.
