Quality Versus trash AKA Spurs V Liverpool

We’re giving Liverpool’s defenders an easy night just playing aimless long balls. So annoying. NB - I fucking hate playing against Mane.

Unlucky on Son’s offside. Unlucky to lose Kane. Lucky on other decisions and several missed chances from them. First half formation ineffective without Reguillon. Lloris poor and a general defensive shambles. FFS a shit night.

Quality Versus trash AKA Spurs V Liverpool

I’ve gone for a draw. They surely have to improve upfront soon and still not sure we’re quite firing on all cylinders. Already feeling sick with nerves about watching the match. Going to have a few beers I think to settle my tummy!

Spurs v Wycombe FA Cup 4th round

That’s a good warm up match for Thursday night really. A run out (with no injuries) for many of our likely starting 11 and a chance to dust-off the cobwebs after a few weeks without a competitive match. Of course we should really have scored more of the chances, but it’s ok to miss a few when you make 30 chances in a match!

Dele surely on his way now. Played well vs Marine and now not in the squad. He’s seemingly coveted by some other clubs with money so time to sell or loan.

Spurs v Wycombe FA Cup 4th round

I don’t know anything about Wycombe except what I’ve read in this build up... Not even sure where Wycombe is! They seem to be doing badly in the league, so it’s surely a Spurs win unless we turn up with the wrong attitude or bad preparation - both unlikely under Mourinho. Many of our squad will be (relatively) well rested now and itching to play as the last game was a while back. So does Jose give key players another break until the Liverpool match?

    Mourinho Caught On Video

Agree. It must be a very slow news day for this to get any coverage. That and the media looking to cause upset at Spurs!

We defo need Hojbjerg vs. Liverpool so that’s a good shout. I think the back 3 can be ok IF the wing backs really do push on and attack consistently for the match. Aurier and Reguillon do like to go forward, so we’ll see...

Gedson in today ahead of Dele and Winks! Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris (C), Aurier, Rodon, Dier, Davies, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Bergwijn, Son, Kane Subs: Hart, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Gedson, Sissoko, Lamela, Bale, Lucas, Vinícius So a back 3, two attacking(?) wing backs, Hojbjerg sitting to protect, NDombele linking with the three forwards.

Yeah we agree on nearly everything and I was really expressing my annoyance we missed out on Bruno! GLC is an enigma and is in danger of becoming ‘the new Lamela’ which is so annoying as we also still have ‘the old Lamela’ too! I think/hope GLC has just been injured and also had that stupid COVID breach. He was becoming an excellent integral player when fit, although now he’s out NDombele has got better and better. If they can both play well together with Hojbjerg (when all fit) we have an awesome midfield. Sissoko and Winks can just fit in as needed around these three depending on the match situation, ideally with Dele too as attacking midfield or part of a front 3. For today, maybe Bale will get a start upfront? He’s lost the electric pace but still looks good on the ball at times and has quality final ball and set piece delivery. Let’s hope Mourinho uses our weapons today and we go for the win! Dont want to spoil my Sunday dinner with a dross performance, a draw or a defeat!

Bit off topic, but I’m not having this! The big difference in the ManU team IS actually a player - Bruno Fernandes. Since he arrived (under Ole) ManU have won more points than anyone else. He has easily been the best signing (in terms of impact on performance and results) by any team in the past few transfer windows. He was immediately excellent and has been consistent great since then. Also whilst ManU are certainly doing well in Dec & January, the season is just on half way through today, so Ole has not done anything yet! We were being talked of as serious title contenders a few weeks ago, and if results swing around again it could be us or someone else again. I’m no fan of the last few performances (especially when we’ve gone 1-0 up!) but Under Mourinho Spurs reached an EL spot after being well off the pace and are in the Carabao cup final which is the first final Wr could have reached this season. Hopefully we’ll pick up the performances again now staring with Sheffield (back on topic!) and I’m also hopeful there is another creative player. in place of either Sissoko or Winks. Don’t mind if it’s Bale, Lamela or Dele - but we should try to be more ambitious!

20/21 PL: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v Fulham

Yes I agree that it was crying out for subs and a tactical change from around 60mins. For me, yes Dele would have been ideal, especially after playing very well vs Marine. Lamela was good before his latest injury and stupid COVID breach, but he’s not coming in match fit yet, so not the impact sub we needed. Couldn’t see much point in Vinicius as we weren’t making any chances, as lacking creativity in the middle. With all that said, we’d have won that game if Son just puts in any one of his three great chances. Their GK also played really well to be fair, no mistakes. Almost Half way through a crazy season now and if the second half is better than the first then we will make top 4.

I agree Mihai is OTT but the same pattern is happening again and again and again. We sit back collectively (not just blaming one player) as a team and make so few chances that the one chance we do make (Son) HAS to go in, or we’re risking dropping points. I’m not anywhere near the Mourinho out camp (he’s doing a lot of good things), but he has to stop so many points being dropped from a winning position. Sort it out now for the second half of the season.

I’m here but my kids are running riot before bedtime! Looked like 3-4 good chances for us have been missed in an open game. Fulham still in it and we need a second/third goal.

Looking at the line-up it can only mean one thing... after his goal at the weekend we can look forward to Sissoko marauding forward and doing damage! COYS
