So. New Manager for Next Week? Or give AVB one last game?

Recommended Posts

Definitely better than AVB..

Of course he is, I heard Phil Brown and Iain Dowie on 909 today, they were talking about new developments within football about rehydration and nutrition and they sounded really really intelligent and and best managers in the world!! I definitely think they are our best option we need these two now!! Then we can be really shit and all have something to fucking whinge about!!!

e are:

* 2 points better off compared to the same/equivalent games last season, when we finished with 72 points.

*  Only 3 points off 4th place (effectively 4 points given GD).

* Have already played 50% of our games last season's top 4 teams, with 66% of the league season still to go, so our remaining fixture list should be easier in theory.

* Topped our Europa League group with ease and are now into the first round of knock-out stages, where we'll avoid all teams dropping out from the CL.

* Are into the League Cups QFs, with a home fixture against W.Ham standing between us and the semis.

* Should have potentially a fair whack of cash we can spend in January, following very low (or sometimes even negative) net spend in recent windows.

Great stuff, Turk!

I don't know where we'll end up at the end of this season, be it's pretty clear to me that we will only improve. I still think we'll have some bad result, like the loss at home against Newcastle, but gradually we'll get more and more solid

Turkish? Are you a maths or science teacher or something???

Always calm factual points to be made.

Can't argue against!!

Not sure how PeterC can state Laudrup is a better manager, based on what? Stats, football played?? Here are some hard facts;

Michael Laudrup's managerial record

Brondby (2002-06)

Played 132, Won 76, Win% 57.58

Won 1 League and 2 Cups, Resigned

Getafe (2007-08)

Played 59, Won 25, Win% 42.37

Won nothing, Resigned

Spartak Moscow (2008-09)

Played 14, Won 4, Win% 28.57

Won nothing,Sacked

Mallorca (2010-11)

Played 42, Won 13, Win% 30.95

Won nothing,Resigned

Swansea

Played 70, Won 25, Win% 35.7%

Won League Cup

Total Played 317, Won 143, Win% 45.11%

AVB's managerial career

Academica (2009-10)

Played 30, Won 11 Win% 36.67

Won nothing, Resigned

Porto (2010-11)

Played 58, Won 49, Win% 84.48

Won League, Cup & UEFA Cup, Resigned

Chelsea (2011-12)

Played 40, Won 19, Win% 47.50

Won nothing, resigned

THFC (2012-13)

Played 76, Won 41, Win% 53.95

Total Played 204, Won 120, Win% 58.82%

Therefore AVB has won only 23 games less than Laudrup but in 113 games less and so has a much higher win %.Plus every one os the teams AVB has managed achieved a higher % win rate than any of Laudrup, even his best. Plus during that time he managed Chelsea (supposedly a failure!) and Academica where he was at a team that was on the verge of relegation that he saved!

Good post mate, sadly,to people like him the facts don't matter,if his win rate was 80% something would be wrong, some people just live to hate.
