Europa League

Recommended Posts

We have been in the Europa League for a number of years now and it doesn't seem to be doing much for us. However, should it be targeted as a main priority due to the fact that it can now gain the winner a Champions League place? Maybe this would be easier to achieve than a top 4 finish. Alternatively, do we aim to play the youngsters and focus fully on the league? What are people's thoughts on how we should go about handling the competition this year.

This competition has been unhelpful to us in the past couple of years and I have not been a big fan as it limited the ammount of time we had to work on the training ground when we so many new players at the club. That said I think its possible to do well in both if we manage the team selection properly, in the past we have made many changes for the Euro and following league teams, if we limited it to players who need to be rested and kept the nucleus of the team intact we could do better.

Simple premier league 11

Cup 11

No one gets tired and no one can have the excuse of too many games !!!

We have a massive squad and loads of decent young kids who could help us get out of the Europa league group then see in feb where we are in the league and asses what is going to be the best option for us.

Pocs done a great job so far just only criticism is he doesn't rotate squad enough maybe last season it was because those in reserve weren't good enough.

Euro cup is helpful especially for a young team like spurs. I dont see why people are hating this cup. I mean yeah the reward isnt that much but why compete with top elites in champions league when we cant even win europa right? Euro is a stepping stone to get to the big stone. Where we are currently now is where we need that small stone to jump up to that big ston3 coz if we would try to jump to tht big stone, we cant reach and fall again.

15 of squad who are playing in the league on the following Sunday should not be part of the Europa squad on the Thursday. 6/7 non first team regulars should be played with youngsters filling the remaining spots. If this cannot see us through the group stage then we should be even in the competition given the lack of quality and that 3 teams qualify.

Once knockout stage arrives in Feb - lets have a go and take it seriously.
