I've been saying that this season could not be completed before the start of the next season for 3 weeks now. At long last someone is agreeing with me.

My jokey fairy tale of cancelling next season but European teams using the second half of it to complete this season could turn out to be how things will turn out.

It could be at least 18 months before a semblance of normality returns.

In my opinion Boris and his Government are in the circumstances doing a good job with Covid 19. No one knows if his and his advisors decisions have been correct and won't know until the post mortem  ( pun intended) afterwards. All countries seem to have taken different routes and are on different stages of their journeys now. Many third world countries and countries around the world hardly seem to be affected but Italy and the rest of the rich, developed Europe is experiencing too many deaths. I don't know how many too many is but I have heard worst case examples of 100,s of thousands and recently a Scientist say the UK would be lucky to get away with less than 20,000.

Whatever the figure good practice and a lot of luck is going to play a big part in it.

Whilst fully expected, I am getting pissed off with the Magic Grandad and his fellow members of the opposition criticising every attempt to provide for the Medical Emergency and the very important Financial catastrophe that follows during and after. Example: If rich old James promises to pay everyone on this forum £10 each. You won't get it tomorrow, you won't get it the next day and by the time he digs it up from the garden, exchanges for current legal currency, finds out all our addresses (James, I've pm,d you) it will probably take a few weeks.

i am pleased that Boris got around to a dedicated timed slot to give us updated information and allow journalists to question events. Now we need to have the Supermarkets and food outlets to devise some system of QUICKLY restocking shelves and informing customers of non availability of Essential items. I had to visit 3 different supermarkets and thus risking my health or others before I found a box of beer at good old Morrison's. I don't care about most items in a Supermarket but where OBVIOUS quick sale important items disappear from the shelves, loo Rolls?,Pasta?,Food Tins, Beer, Bread etc indicate their replacement time ie: out the back on the shelf in an hour or delivery tomorrow or we don't know. If I am going to attract this bloody virus I don't want it to be on a wasted journey to a Supermarket.

Not actually missing the football yet but I think I still have a couple of Match of the day's recorded so that should keep me going until my next planned raid on the Supermarket. Hopefully by next week they will have sorted themselves out and the weak selfish minded will revert to sensible shopping.......but I doubt it!!!!

Sorry, Asc. I had been to the bank to send you a all a tenner, but the wife caught me putting it in the envelopes. She gave me a severe thrashing and took the money off me.

A great post and I agree with all. I think the Government is doing everything it can as quickly as it can.

If this situation suddenly explodes making it difficult to keep on top of it, it will be the people's fault. Too many are not following the rules of self distancing, and not keeping to not socialising. On Paddy's day on the 17th, too many young people were in pubs celebrating it even though all the official events had been cancelled. Too many are ignoring the no more than 5 in a group.

I don't think a huge majority have grasped the fact that when this is over, it will have cost the Government so much and got it into so much debt the country will be close to being bankrupt. Much of what was being promised in the budget will no longer be fundable. We will be back into recession far, far worse than the one some 10 years ago. Then all the moans will continue asking for more free help paid by the Government rather than curtailing their own standard of living. In the 40s and 50s we accepted the situation and lived within our impoverished means. I can't see that happening with the snowflakes of today.

At least Boris will be able to hide the cost of a No Deal Brexit within the Virus costs. I agree how close we come to being Bankrupt is the question but at least from a catastrophic base we can probably guarantee 20 years growth. However, you and I might not see it.Lol

I bloody hope I don't see another 20 years. I have enough aches and pains now without doubling or trebling them. 66 years of hammering the body being an athlete and sportsman it is starting to take its toll.

All I want is to see is Spurs winning

the EPL and CL in the next few years and then I'll be ready to call it a day.

To repeat your words " All I want is to see Spurs winning". Same answer ie: in the next 20 years you and I won't probably see that but with Jose at leas he can lay the foundations for the future.
