To repeat your words " All I want is to see Spurs winning". Same answer ie: in the next 20 years you and I won't probably see that but with Jose at leas he can lay the foundations for the future.

As I put in an earlier post that selfish people would be main reason for a huge increase in those catching the Covid-19 virus.

The BBC News app is currently reporting that today, seaside visitors are defying social distancing advice a they are flocking to the seaside in their thousands. These people appear not care that this virus is a killer and their utterly selfish behaviour could lead to someone dying.

It is time for Boris to get nasty. He needs to enact legislation for those that disregard the rules are punished. Hit them where it hurts. Get the bailiffs to come round and confiscate all the smart phones and tablets in their home so all their families suffer. Then to shame them on the TV news programmes

. That would very quickly get those who put themselves first before others to quickly toe the line.

As the subject has arisen, I'll give my view. Like Asc, I too don't mean anything against you personally as I consider you to be an 'arms length' friend as I do everyone who posts on here.

That said, I have been puzzled with all your one line posts and have wondered why, when 4 or 5 posts rattle out in 3 or 4 minutes, they weren't all in 1 post. There have been some of your  posts I have reacted to with a like or laugh moji and replied to which is great as I love joining with the conversations on here. However, I have no idea how to respond to your one line posts.

There is no rule on how we post as long as we are polite. All I would say is that, to me, it can clog up the thread with too many posts that have to be scrolled through to get to the next members post.

That said M8, if you think I'm talking tripe, just tell me to eff off. LOL

Well said James. You have put it a lot better than I did. My frustration is this is a forum but regular longstanding posters don't post any subject that is actually discussed.

Now it appears the regular posters only post 2 or 3 words or maybe a sentence that doesn't even seem to relate to any past post or subject. Genuinely I don't understand what posters are saying.

I think I am out of touch with today's communication techniques. Yay Man!!!!!lol

I don’t know how to move people’s posts like you boys do simple ,,,remember I don’t even have an email,,,or I phone lol

No problem M8 just be your self.

I have a sad story for you. I married my first wife aged 29. After 16 years and no children despite my wife and I having had all the fertility tests, I divorced as she confessed to not wanting children and had carried on taking the pill. By the time I had met and married again to someone also childless we were in our 50s and not really in a position to start a family.

All my friends have kids and grand kids. As they moved into old age and could no longer do as much as they could, retired from work and had less and less to replace interesting things and the things that they once did, the had their children and grand children. Nothing is better and makes old age a god time in your life. Not only do I not have that, it is sad and painful for me on Father's and Grandfather's day and also birthdays and Christmas.

Because my father was in the Army, I went to 7 different schools as he moved around. He put me in the Army when I was 16 and I had dozen postings all around the world. I finished up here in Ashby 22 years ago so have no lifelong friends from school, work or a home town. I know a lot of people in Ashby, but they have families and long term friends so rarely have a window to spend much time for me. I play bridge, badminton and go to the gym and, when I am there, I have many friends and it is very enjoyable. However, that is the extent of my socialising. This shutdown trapped indoors is going to be difficult for my wife an me.

This forum is a Godsend for me. That is why I post so much on here. If there is a thread where we can add a view, I try and keep it going so I can chat to someone. I felt uncomfortable giving a view on Asc's post, as it could too easily be misconstrued as having a dig which was the last thing I wanted.

That I why I started this post with 'be yourself'. That is what Asc was doing his post and I with mine.

Everyone who posts on here I regard as my 'arms length' friends and you all fill a huge gap in my life. I'm not looking for sympathy with this post, I just was worried I may have upset you, so thought I would explain the reason for my post - it was not because I wanted to make a point or to try and change how you post, I was only responding to a post with my take.

Let's start controversially. I reckon pop music from the 50s and 60s is the best. Melodic and tuneful. I reckon everything that has come out in the last 30 years is utter crap. Dreary, mournful and every singer sings and sounds the shame.

What decades is your favourite music from?
