Gareth Bale and the Cunning Plan ....

Real Madrid have their eyes firmly set on Mbappe and Haaland see this link https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2021/04/16/6078b90722601dfe298b45fd.html

Now if they need to sell Bale you would think Spurs would be the obvious first choice but at what price ?

So how do you value Gareth Bale currently ?. Daniel Levy will tell you (and Zidane) that he is a player who is unable to command a first team spot and was only making brief cameo appearances for European matches. His fitness levels are questionable as is his overall attitude. This would all serve to validate that an extremely cheap deal would be required if Spurs were to consider keeping him.So Real Madrid bite the bullet and accept a significantly low transfer fee, Bale agrees to a re-negotiated wage deal and stays at Spurs.

Next season we release a revitalised, fully fit and raring to go Gareth Bale upon the Premier League. He scores 15 goals and 12 assists and is hailed as being back to his best.

This is why he is being currently 'rested' by José. If he's not playing then he cannot be assessed and valued by his parent club. They need to sell but cannot dictate a high price for a player who is just sitting on the bench. This could well be a Levy masterstroke !!

(What an imagination I have at times...:cc:)
