Who Will Be The Next Manager ?

Recommended Posts

Conte is not of Spurs DNA. He is closer to Jose in style as far as defense first and last. And he would want to spend a lot of money.

This would be depressing.

Why is it supposed "top" managers all want to just spend? Oh yeah, it's easier than building something.

You may as well accept that Conte is the new guy. When you consider things he is without doubt one of the top managers out there and not so long ago we were talking about Graham Potter.

He's just won the league at Inter and is just what we need to sort out the mess that is now our squad. Get his DOF mate in as well and give them the cash and freedom to operate.

I honestly think we will finally see silverware under his guidance. He is nothing like Mourinho and actually hates José's guts. He will be hell bent on proving he can do a better job in the Spurs hot chair.

Let's get behind him and Paratici (if he comes too) and look to a brighter future. COYS !!

Just for information...

Juve finished 7th twice in a row prior to Conte, who finished top every season he was there and Inter hadn't placed above 4th since 10/11 prior to Conte's 2 seasons (which they finished 2nd and 1st respectively) and Chelsea haven't won the league since Conte left

There is no doubt conte is a top manager but he I fear will not last at Spurs. The squad needs a major overhaul, really it looks like we need an entire defence and new lead striker to replace Kane.
if levy gives conte and the DOF 200m to spend then maybe conte second year might see us challenge for top 4 before he loses interest or something better comes along.

Agree if it is conte fans need to back him but I hope he realises what a big rebuild it is!

I don’t see conte being enough for Kane to turn down city so either levy is planning on selling him to fund conte rebuild or he’ll keep the lad against his will and hope conte can turn water into wine in his first season.

Hope the new manager is sorted this week.

I dont see why fans should have to get behind any manager. Many fans dont support certain players at all .

Id get behind anyone if Levy got out the club tho hes sold the soul of THFC in chasing trophies over entertaining the fans when we were one step from having both but he shied from a then small investment

Conte yeh he could do the job. So could have jose . Will he tho. I hope so

Yep levy should have invested in playing side from position of strength. For me if he screws this next appointment up it would be best for him to leave/ENIC to sell up....but they won’t sell I’m pretty sure of that!

that’s not to say levy hasn’t done a great job with training ground and stadium but it’s now time to start winning things. It’s made worse by pretending we’re a big big club, you need trophies for that!

If Conte was appointed then that would mean he and Levy had mutually agreed contractual terms which encompass salary, transfer budget, responsibilities, targets, bonuses etc etc. I don't understand the view that the two of them wouldn't get on together. Such an appointment would not be made unless both parties felt it would be beneficial and workable.

The exact opposite of Levy wanting a low maintenance manager though - Conte is an outstanding manager - but if you look at every club he's been at - he makes so many demands that I can never see it working.
There is another alternative way to view it though - how about Levy appointing Conte and Paratici on their terms and then Enic sell up and leave the new owners and Chairman to deal with Conte?? :dd::dd:

I see another interesting topic. All big clubs have managers, so if Conte wont accept to be our manager, which club will take him? :)

So maybe Levy has the option to cut his demands, Conte will leave anyway in 1-2 years.

I’ve no doubt that Conte is a top manager and perhaps his aggressive style is exactly what Spurs needs - this team needs a massive kick up its collective ass. My concern is he seems to last 2-3 years and I’m not sure he’s ever taken over such a massive rebuild as what is needed at Spurs.

id rather have Poch for a longer term project but if it’s Conte I and all the Tottenham faithful will back him.....Will Levy though? That’s the 64 million euros question

Poch's contract expires at PSG at just about the same time everyone is thinking Conte's appointment will go pear shaped. Coincidence surely ?? :cc:

come Levy get it done before the weekend.

in meantime watch this, fake video I stumbled on but very funny

This is the guy I want next season, not someone scribbling away into a notepad while the team is getting murdered on the pitch. Angry maybe but passionate and motivated. Bring it on !

I’m beginning to agree with you, watch this. If we can’t get poch then maybe conte for 2-3 years until he implodes could be good. Needs cash though

One thing that often gets overlooked about Conte is that he won an awful lot as a player too:

14 major honours as a player including a Champions League.

Serie A: 1994–95, 1996–97, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2002–03 [5]
Coppa Italia: 1994–95 [1]
Supercoppa Italiana: 1995, 1997, 2002, 2003 [4]
UEFA Champions League: 1996 [1]
UEFA Cup: 1993 [1]
Intercontinental Cup: 1996 [1]
UEFA Intertoto Cup: 1999 [1]

8 major honours as as a manager:

Serie A: 2011–12, 2012–13, 2013–14, 2020-21 [4]
Premier League: 2016–17 [1]
Supercoppa Italiana: 2012, 2013 [2]
FA Cup: 2018 [1]

Let's not in any way underestimate the quality of the guy we are chasing he has 22 major honours to his name :thumb:

I’ll believe it when I see the press conference.
there’s now another story saying one last push for poch

Has to be clickbait, do people honestly think Levy would risk the whole Conte deal on one last throw of the dice with Poch ?? Everything I am reading tells me Conte is on his way to London as I write :thumb:

I'll tell you what that is hilarious if he comes to us gets money and is successful and is telling everyone how easy this league is, we win the title, says José's a knobhead he's the top Boy

When you consider some of the names being bandied about at the start of this thread and then realise we are about to appoint someone who has won 5 league titles with three different clubs you just have to get tingles down the spine. The Arsenal fans are fuming over this and bemoaning that they are still stuck with Arteta and going nowhere next season.

He may be another ex Chelsea manager but he's also the last one to bring the Premier League title to Stamford Bridge. I cannot wait to see him barking orders at our players during matches and the prospect of who he may be able to bring with him to improve the quality of the squad means it's going to be very interesting over the next few weeks.

It will be a mighty leap from the dull and apathetic Mourinho approach to matches. He will tighten us up defensively but still produce the flowing and attacking football we have all missed. When he won the title with Chelsea (2016/17) they scored 85 goals which is 2 more than Man City managed this season.

I'm warming to the idea of Conte. I wonder if that would mean Eriksen could move? Didn't he come back into favor there? Nah, would be too far fetched. We could definitely use some creativity though.
