Capoue to be announced as a Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur’s deal to sign Etienne Capoue is set to be confirmed later today or by tomorrow, according to the BBC.

The defensive midfielder is undergoing a medical at Tottenham today and will join us from Toulouse for a fee in the region of £9million.

Earlier today, Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay admitted that the 25-year-old was “set to go elsewhere” and he appears to be right.

Capoue can also fill in as a central defender, which will ease the pressure on AVB’s injury concerns over Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen following the sale of Steven Caulker.

He would be our fourth summer signing, joining Paulinho, Nacer Chadli and Roberto Soldado in making the move to N17.

Have something to tell us about this article?

      • the reason why we signing alot of midfielders this season is because the midfield we had last season wasnt good enough. we suffer from alot of injures and we didnt have any replacements, especially coming off the bench to change the game. Parker, huddlestone and even lennon (injury prone) was poor last season.

  1. AVB is gonna have the midfield running none stop up and down the pitch, trust me, we are gonna need the cover, none stop attacking football and squad rotation, thats why we need so many players with the same qualities.

  2. Capoue is excellent as a center back. He plays that position similar to Kaboul. He also has a decent shot. Hopefully this signing will be official by 8:00 pm.

  3. This signing proves of our intend for next season. Sell Hudd, Parker, Livermore & Ade to make way for another striker to complete the assault for the title.

  4. Another unexpected player that will join us…

How about getting CABELLA, I know, we have not been linked to him, but we have not been linked to Capoue or Paulinho so y not?

Cabella would be the better version of Lamela: cheaper, more experienced and more creative. Can play on the wings and as an attacking midfielder
