CheekyCockney: Bale – Good Ridance

So Gareth Bale has finally gone, and although I expect to be in the minority, I say simply, Gareth Bale – glad you have gone.

With one of the longest transfer episodes on record, I said a long time back that Bale was just a mercenary like the rest of them, and so he is proved.

In a statement, he says that Tottenham will always be in his heart and also the Fans. Yes the ‘Fans’ he turned his back on and at the end treated us like dirt. Two weeks ago he basically goes on strike and doesn’t turn up to the training ground as ordered by the Club. He said he respected the club and the fans. What an INSULT. He cares not one jot about our club, and even less about our beloved fans. Had he have said right from the start about what he wanted, at least we would all have known. I said in my last article that his silence spoke volumes, and then finally we hear what we all knew. He didn’t want to wear the Spurs shirt ever again and wanted to leave, even spending the weekend in Spain trying to push through the transfer instead of being with his team mates and being at White Hart Lane.

So like most of the others, the mercenary Bale should be hounded by our fans out of the club. I certainly don’t want any player at our Club who doesn’t want to wear the shirt. He is now not worthy to be called a Tottenham legend, most of the people i know now dislike him immensely. Sol Campbell (although we didn’t get a fee for him) did much the same, but his sin was worse by moving to our bitter rivals. Modric also, all mercenaries in their own shallow way.

Yes Bale is a top class player, Yes we will miss his skills, and Yes he has given us 2 or so years of excitement, yet what about the first few years when he gave us nothing and we could never win with him in the team.

I say, I’m glad we took the money and run, we dont need the likes of him (mercenaries) at our club.

So certainly from me, and to be honest most of the people I know, we say GOOD RIDANCE Gareth Bale
