AVB praises debutant Christian Eriksen

Andre Villas-Boas praised debutant Christian Eriksen after watching his Tottenham side win comfortably against Norwich City.

Two goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson proved to be enough to keep all three points at the Lane, but it was the recent signing from Ajax who caught the eye during his debut which lasted 71 minutes.

The victory means we now have nine points from a maximum tweleve from the start of the new Premier League campaign.

“It was a great debut for Christian,” AVB told Sky Sports.

“He used all of his experience between the lines and his movement was fantastic. He bonded very easily and his individual quality made the difference.

“These are qualities we look for. Most of our signings have it – mental qualities to fight for places and the ability to understand the game. For Eriksen’s age, he is quite impressive.

“He has played a lot of Champions League games and obviously now the Premier League is about how consistent you can be.

“When you have individual quality, you can jump into the team right away. With performances and results like this, we can bond like a team.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Seems like the Arsenal game came to soon, with AVB playing a more defensive

team because there simply wasn’t time to see how these players gel.

Fantastic-looking team today, 4-2-3-1 looked right, with a good mix of

creativity balanced with a strong defensive midfield. Made it look easy today.

  2. Eriksen is a top class player and we did very well to attract him, especially for such a modest fee. He looks like what we have been missing in the first few games of the season. He will grow and as he develops will become a truly world class player.

  3. Cristian, we gonna miss you here in Holland.
You did very well yesterday, soon you be far better than Bale.
Tottenham is the right club for you.
    Good luck in England.
