Spurs linked with world class forwards once more

0

Speculation is again rife in today’s press suggesting that Tottenham have already opened talks with Barcelona for the services of David Villa.

The Daily Mail claim that Spurs have tabled a bid of £10million for the 31-year-old Spanish international, but Barcelona are apparently unwilling to part with Villa for anything less than £12million.

We all know that we need to bolster our attack ahead of next season and the paper is also linking us with yet another move for Leandro Damiao.

Internacional have previously snubbed a bid of just over £17million from us earlier in the year. The paper claims that talks have re-opened to finally bring the Brazilian international to White Hart Lane  – we’ve heard that before, right?

Oh, and apparently we are prepared to listen to offers for Emmanuel Adebayor.

    • Spurs should have bought 2 top Strikers 2 years ago, but Mr Levy will not buy top players. Levy is the reason we cannot challenge for the premiership let alone get into the Champions leauge.
Without 2 new top strikers, another Top centre Back, and a real playmaker we will always trail behind the likes of Arsenal.
There are other top strikers like Benteke and Carrol who we should have bought.
But while Levy is chairman we will never have the top tallent we need to be champions as he appears not to like football and spend money on top players.

      • Totally agree with the comments a top strikers is as likely as the invisible ground being built.while levy is in charge we wont progress any further

  1. I wish this nonsense, yes it is nonsense, would stop. Constant links to players and beings from outer space in equal amounts is tedious. When we sign a player the club will announce it. I doubt very much that DL is going to broadcast his business dealings before completion.

  2. Villa for £10 million !!! I Just cant see Levy parting with that cash for a 31 year old who will be 32 soon. Damiao , yes please, just get it done and dusted as soon as possible, but hold fire on Villa :)

  3. We should most Deffinnatelly try to grab Damiao before Villa! Villas getting on, just get Damiao in our team, he’d be a great signing!

  4. to be honest , it is a waste of time in listening all this pack of rumours saying spurs are linked to such such a players . When the time arrives nothing will ever happen

  5. Listen guys I know damiao will be great and has huge potential, but on the first game of the season you need 3points and an experienced striker to finish the opportunity and that my friend is villa you forget it is world cup year and spains record goal scorerer will wan’t to prove a point. RVP is no spring chicken but his purchase gave man u the title get both of them please! You can’t just have young strikers you need a balance plus some one to take the pressure off damiao so he can settle in (sandro will help with that too). Don’t worry you will be singing villia’s name when bangs the ball in the net next season if we get him COYS

  6. Yes management we need to bring in new players.we need a top quality striker.two midfielders who will penetrate defenses an make it a lot easier for Mr Bale to perform his magic.

  7. Damiao is so overrated, Villa on the other hand has proven himself as the one the best strikers ever and at £12 million is a bargain. But I agree we need another striker and that man should be Jackson Martinez, head and shoulders above Damiao and along with Villa I can see at least 40 goals next season between them
