Adebayor linked with £10m Spurs exit

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been linked with a £10million move to Fenerbahce.

The Turkish giants have switched their striking targets after failing to land Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo and feel that Adebayor is their next best option.

Adebayor joined Spurs on a permanent deal in August 2012, but failed to have nowhere near the same season in terms of goals or performance as to what he did the season previous while on loan from Manchester City.

Andre Villas-Boas is known to be keen to bolster his attacking options with Leandro Damiao still his preferred target and the sale of Adebayor will go some way towards funding the deal. As for the Togo international’s massive wage demands, the low-tax regime in Turkey gives the speculation a very realistic chance of actually happening.

  1. Adecantscore aint worth a pint of cider at the bricklayer's on high road. 10 million quid is just hilarity. Go on then!

  2. Done his job as a stop gap until we could get someone better, which appears to be now.
Thanks for a great first season and a forgettable second one which at least drastically highlighted our probem up front to our chairman.
Hope this is true, for all parties concerned…

  3. If you sell adebayor (first goal scorer fro spurs 2011-12; and Bale first scorer 2012-13; you must say bye for big five in premier league

  4. £10 million would be amazing but we all know what will happen, Levy will stick that money in his pocket and there won’t be anyone better brought in. He’s ruined our squad in the last few years, when our 1st eleven got injured last year we had no quality to come off the bench (or to replace failing strikers/help out Bale).
