Adebayor won’t be forced out of Tottenham

Emmanuel Adebayor will not be forced out of Tottenham Hotspur, that is what is being reported today.

The Spurs striker had a campaign to forget last season, following his permanent switch from Manchester City and has been linked with a move to Turkish outfit Besiktas.

The tax rule in Turkey makes Adebayor’s possible move to Besiktas an attractive option, but according to some circles he is determined to prove his worth at White Hart Lane.

We are used to the daily Spurs transfer rumours linking Adebayor with a Spurs exit after his horrific form, but should we be looking to see if big Ade can redeem himself this year? On his day we know how good he can be, or should we instead look for a striker who can peform consistently?

“Adebayor is a very talented player – anyone would like him to be a part of their squad,” Besiktas boss Slaven Bilic told Lig TV last week.

Any possible move to Turkey for Adebayor could depend on the outcome of their appeal of a one-year ban from the Champions League and Europa League over match-fixing allegations.

  1. I think he can still be an important player. He had a totally disrupted pre-season last year and had injuries, AFCON and suspensions to deal with. He just didn't look fit until February and from then on his performances picked up. Personally I think he did enough to earn a reprieve but it depends who comes in.

For the money we paid, Ade still represents potentially excellent value. Last season was an anomaly compared to his record in the PL, with a full pre-season (something he's never had with us) I think he can return to his best. Whether the fans will tolerate that I don't know, they seemed to turn on him very quickly and Ade is a player who needs to feel important.

    • Don't bee fooled twice Josh let him go you can not be in the champions league by having a 5 goal scorer striker for the complete season I don't call that a top striker do you?

  2. ade, if anyone is forcing you out the lane then may i suggest you screw you head on properly and start finding the back of the net witch your getting payed to do simple, just grow up man.

  3. Want to murder him when he misses sitters but one thing he does not lack-great work ethic. Uplifting to see him helping out at the heart of defence when team is in trouble and when he loses the ball he goes all out to try retrieve it. Thats why if I have to choose between him and Defoe, I will choose Ade even though Defoe is a good finisher.
