VIDEO: Bale unfazed by world record transfer fee

Gareth Bale was presented to the Real supporters on Monday after completing his world record transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid for 100 million euros.

The Welshman insists he doesn’t feel the pressure of the transfer fee and admits that Ronaldo is still the best player at the club.

The vast majority of Tottenham fans have wished Bale best wishes for the future after he made the switch to Spain.

Gareth Bale (on his thoughts about playing for Real Madrid): “As I said before, it’s an absolute dream to be here. I know the President Florentino Perez and Jose has put a lot of effort in and I’ve put my trust in them the whole way. I believed from the beginning that they would make my dream come true and I’d like to thank them personally for making this happen and it’s a dream to be here and I can’t wait for my future to start here.”

Bale, (on his transfer fee): “For me, the transfer’s nothing to do with me – I think that’s between Real Madrid and Tottenham. I want to come here whether it be for a penny or whatever it was. I want to come here and do my best for the club and show what I can do on the football pitch and give a hundred per cent and all I can say is that and I want to win titles, play in the Champions League and become the best player I can. So, yes, as for that, it’s nothing to do with me really.”

Bale, (on playing with Cristiano Ronaldo): “He’s the boss here I think. He’s the main player, he’s the best player in the world and I want to learn off him, as I said. So, for me, I want to, obviously, try and help the team and try and help us win trophies. So, on that department, yes, I’ll have to wait and see what he says.
