Gareth Bale’s agent admits it would be an “honour” if Real Madrid were interested in his client, but says his deal is with Tottenham.
Jonathan Barnett spoke to the Futboleros show on MarcaTV on Tuesday and was quizzed on the future of Bale. It seems worrying that his agent is publically talking about Bale in this manner with all Spurs fans hoping he remains at the Lane for another season at least.
Daniel Levy really does need to sort the situation out. If Bale’s agent is going around spouting this kind of rubbish then it’s only going to unsettle the player.
“If Florentino [Perez, Real president] is interested in Gareth Bale, then that would be an honour and we would listen, but his contract is with Tottenham,” Barnett said.
“But we are not free to talk to anyone.”
More worryingly was Barnett’s admission that there have been no talks about Bale being on the verge of signing an improved contract at Tottenham as widely reported by press.
“No, we have not talked to anybody,” he said when asked a about a possible new deal.
“I do not know if there has already been an offer. What I know is that the player has three years left on his contract.”
