Internacional: No Damiao Tottenham talks

Internacional chief Giovanni Luigi insists he is currently not in talks with any club about Tottenham target Leandro Damiao.

Press reports earlier this week claimed that Tottenham had re-opened negociations with the Brazilian club to finally land the services of the 23-year-old who has been coveted by Daniel Levy for over 18 months.

Napoli and Marseille have recently been heavily linked with a move for Damiao and speculation increased when Giovanni Luigi was spotted in London last week. However he was in the capital to watch the Champions League final and not to discuss anything with Spurs.

“No club contacted me. I was there [in Europe] alone,” Luigi told Radio Gaucha.

“I went to see the [Wembley] stadium well and to watch the game. But I didn’t talk with anybody regarding the player.”

Luigi did admit that he was expecting offers – but did not know if Tottenham would be back for him.

“It’s possible that an offer happens, but I don’t know if it will be from Tottenham,” he said.

“The player has been called up again, will play the Confederations Cup and is wanted [by many clubs].”
