“I never gave leaving Spurs a thought last summer”

Tottenham captain Michael Dawson wants to sign a contract extension at the club.

The central defender joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest in 2005 in a combined deal which also brought Andy Reid to White Hart Lane.

Although he started the season out of favour with AVB and was heavily linked with a move to QPR, Dawson was determined to fight for his place and remain at Spurs. He should be rewarded for his loyalty and love for our club.

“I’ve got two years left and I’d love to extend that,” Dawson told the press.

“Hopefully if the manager and the chairman want me for that long, it would be great.

“I never gave leaving Spurs a thought last summer, having been here for eight years.”
