Redknapp still keen on Spurs striker

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is keen to take Harry Kane on loan with the Championship outfit.

Redknapp revealed he was due to take Kane on loan when it looked as if QPR striker Andy Johnson could re-join Premier League newcomers Crystal Palace just before the transfer window closed earlier this month.

Kane has previously has loan experience at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City as the 20-year-old continues his footballing education. It’s also interesting that Redknapp believes that Kane is third choice at White Hart Lane behind Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe – where that leaves Emmanuel Adebayor in the pecking order is anyone’s guess.

The former Spurs boss told reporters: “I was going to take Harry on the deadline. I was going to take him that night when AJ looked like he was going to Palace.

“Now, I don’t know. Harry’s probably the third choice at Spurs now. Whether they’ll still loan him, I don’t know. They might do.

“Andy Johnson missed all of last season – is he going to stay fit? Bobby Zamora’s had problems too.

“That is the only area. Everywhere else I’m very happy with.”
