Ranking Tottenham’s current top 10 players

The start of pre-season means that the countdown to our new Premier league Sampaign is well and truly under way. Us spurs fans wait with baited breath as the air becomes thick with rumours of signings and departures both old and new. In order to help stem the boredom between test matches and to give respite from such regurgitated stories as “Benteke’s agent seen getting into a cab on Seven Sisters” and “Soldado for sale at right price’ says manager” I thought it would be nice for us to take a look at the squad we do have.

What I’ve attempted to do here is to make a list of our current top 10 best players, based mostly on performances from last season or the last few seasons. I’ll start by saying that I’ve left out all new transfers (which at time of writing consists only of Paulinho, who I expect to be pretty close to the top of the list by this time next year) as I didn’t think it would be fair to rank new players until they’ve got some playing time under their belt.
