Ranking Tottenham’s current top 10 players

The start of pre-season means that the countdown to our new Premier league Sampaign is well and truly under way. Us spurs fans wait with baited breath as the air becomes thick with rumours of signings and departures both old and new. In order to help stem the boredom between test matches and to give respite from such regurgitated stories as “Benteke’s agent seen getting into a cab on Seven Sisters” and “Soldado for sale at right price’ says manager” I thought it would be nice for us to take a look at the squad we do have.

What I’ve attempted to do here is to make a list of our current top 10 best players, based mostly on performances from last season or the last few seasons. I’ll start by saying that I’ve left out all new transfers (which at time of writing consists only of Paulinho, who I expect to be pretty close to the top of the list by this time next year) as I didn’t think it would be fair to rank new players until they’ve got some playing time under their belt.

  1. Generally agree, except for the ranking and comments on Lennon. Thought he was ok defensively but generally disappoining in attack. Given the attention Bale receives from other teams, There was real space for Lennon to exploit, and he often failed to do so. I want a huge improvement from him this year, or else we should bring in a replacement and keep Azza as an impact sub.

  2. Gareth Bale is a tray, because he carries a mug. That mug is Adebayor. He is one of the worst strikers in the PL yet he is still over-rated. He knocked us out the Europa and if RVP had the chances he had we would be playing champions league football. Why do you think Mr Levy and Mr Baladini are working like hell to get a new striker!

  3. If we had the best striker (Rvp) obviously we would have got champions league. If I was your father you’d have a brain

  4. Bahahaha. Dempsey > Sigurdsson, my arse. One scored a handful of easy goals and did fuck all else other than that, while Sigurdsson ran the midfield at times and is just unfortunate in the fact that there aren't enough deluded Icelandics to have his back.

    • I'm American and even I know Siggy deserves more credit than Dempsey. Dempsey is slow and unimaginative. We would get the same results from playing Parker in an attacking position. Lol Siggurdson has decent vision, he's a fluent passer of the ball, and he puts in a shift every time he's on the pitch. Dempsey went mia more times than Ade last season

  5. he rarely starts so how can he be a top ten player? – also he joined well before deadline day because he scored a goal on tour in USA
