Madrid want Bale to submit transfer request

12

The Sun are today reporting that Real Madrid want Gareth Bale to submit a written transfer request to Spurs in order to force a transfer.

The paper claims that Bale will be too polite to take on Daniel Levy and will back down at the first sign of confrontation – they also claim that if a move was to materialise, the fee would be £80million.

We all know that Bale still has three years to run on his contract at White Hart Lane and the club are said to be ready to offer him fresh terms worth £170,000-a-week. Madrid are apparently ready to offer him £10million a year and the lure of Champions League football.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has already spoken of his admiration of the Welshman and is said to be ready to do whatever it takes to bring him to the Bernabeu.

So, yet again it’s another day of Bale rumours. Would you sell Gareth Bale for £80million?

  1. i love Bale and am a massive Tottenham fan who would love just for once a star player to say as it goes i love it hear and want to push this club to the same levels as Real and Manc u shited and wouldnt it be nice if the chairman finally said stay and ill help you put this great team up there. Spurs need to make a statment this summer instead of being a unwilling door mat for the big boys. Levy needs to put soe of the transfer profit he has made over the past 5 years to good use Villa would be a great short term buy and stop wasting time on players like Diamo they are pushing for a massive fee for a player who has had a poor season in a league that doesnt even compare to our's, Roberto soldado would be a top buy and hasnt been linked to anyone else get in there early and show everyone what we can do, if we can get rid of some of the players that do nothing for us Gomes Bentley etc and bang on the Gooners havent got the pull they use to have so in my opinion we have a season left to push them out and make the big league our own COYS

  2. I played football for over 30 years and have supported Spurs all my life having been born 10 minutes from the ground. The reason for supporting them is that they have always had a player or two in the team who was a cut above the norm, I couldn't watch a team that played sit back and hope a chance comes our way, I want to see players do things on the pitch that I did not have the ability to do i.e. entertain me like Gazza, Ginola and yes Bale.
Now is the time to step up in player quality, move on from where we are now, so if at all possible keep Bale and add to him. The ground is important but not without a successful team playing there.

    • Yes agreed, we do not want to be like Arseanal and sell our best player every year. We make no progress that way and as we are nearly breaking into the top 4, that push to get there should be realised now with 1 or 2 top strikers. The stadium is futile without the intention of being back among the big boys.

  3. Agree, we can't buy another Gareth . Stump up now DL . Build this team around our gem .
A lot of our squad now have played & done their best in the past , & will not take us further forward .
    1) We need a complete new quality strike force .
    2) A new specialist left winger ( as Gareth wants in behind the forward now)
    3) A better LB. So give Danny his chance now.
    4) A different creative option to Mousa.
    5) A squad where players coming off the bench , can make a difference when teams park the bus.

  4. I would rather he stayed and did a Giggs, people say he won't win anything with spurs but he's just won every personal award under the sun so thats not true. In my opinion he's capable of being the best spurs player ever and selling him now will make getting quality players in this season a lot harder he is the reason players will want to come at the moment with no CL football

  5. We all know he will leave. Levy and Lewis don't care that much. They are just trying to make us a product to sell.

  6. Real Madrid's arrogance never ceases to amaze me. Bale does not want to go to Madrid this summer, his agent has just been using them to try and secure the biggest pay rise possible at Spurs. It's hardly a new tactic.

We will definitely have Gareth for another season and if we (from recent experience, probably a big IF) finish in the top four next season I could even see him staying one more year for another CL run with Spurs.

Sadly though, whatever happens I cannot see us holding on to the lad for more than the next couple of seasons. It's important to remember that although Spurs are the be all and end all for us, Bale is an exceptional talent and he will want to experience all the game has to offer.

  7. Man Utd sold Ronaldo for 80m. We know they are not a selling club.So if RM wants Bale at the same figure, then I say take it. Bear in mind the additional wage increase for Bale @ 70k per wk,..almost 4m per yr. With this sort of money ( provided it is spent by Levy ), we can have a much stronger squad this coming season. Remember too that Ade did very well for us the previous season but took a dive this past season. It could happen to Bale too and if our bench is not strenghtened, then we will be in big trouble. Probably half of Bale's goals can qualify as goal of the season. It would be unlikely, though not impossible to reach that sort of performance every year. We would probably need more goals scored from within the box, including from corners. Having said that I would not sell if it is less than 80m.

  8. I was wondering, if it could be proved that Real Madrid did ask Gareth Bale's agent to get Bale to hand in a transfer request, isn't that breaking the rules? This is, if true the biggest case of tapping up a player that a club has done. Yes we know that Carrick and Berbetov were turned by both Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United. But I classd both of these players mercenaries. To them money meant everything….!!! Then we have Chelsea who practically gave Luka Modrić a Chelsea shirt along with his own squad number. Good job Daniel Levy leaned his lessons and decided to sell to another club not even in the same league. Yes, Spurs would of got £7million more but it was the principal. Then we have the accusations from Ferguson in regards to Fryers…. Hmmm!!!!
I would make it quite clear, or should that be, Levy needs to tell Real Madrid that due to their tactics, they would be the last team on earth if it came a time to let Bale leave. I'm sure that Real Madrid and their very outspoken chairmen would then go away with their tales between their legs.
Spurs and AVB along with Levy and maybe Baldini are looking to build a team that will get better and break into the champions league and then a team to keep them continually playing season upon season in the champions league. Keep bale, bring in players like Damio, young very talented players and then see what happens. With this I predict that we can bring success not only to White Hart Lane, but also in our new ground and for many years to come……
