Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings vs Swansea City

Just like Tottenham’s build-up play, this introduction is going to be long, slow and frustrating. But in the end, you will be satisfied (I hope), just like you will have been when Soldado found the net. Townsend was exciting; Capoue was beast-like.

Tottenham are joint-top. 2 games, 2 Soldado pens, 2 clean sheets, 2 wins. Player ratings below.

Hugo – 7 – Didn’t have too much to do but was solid when he had to do said not much. Made some great saves.

The better Kyle – 5 – Lacked offensive additions strangely and was slightly shaky in defence.

Captain, leader, legend – 8 – Extremely solid up against a tough aerial challenge in Michu.

SuperJan – 7 – Played well but still looked a little unfit.

Tulip – 6 – Had a quiet game which is a compliment for a defender.

Paul – 7 – Assured in midfield but needed to be more clinical and decisive going forward, which should come with PL experience.

CaPOW – 7 – Strong and composed in central midfield, the Frenchman is quickly becoming undroppable.

Moose – 5 – Swansea cramped the midfield and Dembele was resultantly ineffective.

Andros Townsend (nickname?) – 8 – A vibrant and exciting display, Townsend was our main threat going forward and won the penalty.

Nacer Chadli (?) – 6 – The Belgian was quiet but held the ball up well in the latter stages of the game.

Goaldado – 7 – A true poacher’s performance, didn’t do too much in open play but took the chance when it presented itself.

Substitutes

Iceman – 6 – Didn’t have much of an influence on the game, mainly because we were defending more than attacking when he was on.

He’s yiddo – 6 – Played the lone striker role surprisingly well in his short cameo up against Chico.

Beast – 6 – Nice to see him edging back to fitness, even if only for a few minutes.
