Ajax director of football Marc Overmars refused to confirm Christian Eriksen’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur as he and officials reacted to the Champions League draw on Thursday in Monaco.
Eriksen is said to be in London undergoing a medical and missed training with the Dutch giants on Thursday, but Overmars remained coy on the deal.
Marc Overmars, Ajax director of football (On Christian Eriksen): “You will have to ask him (if he will move to Tottenham). I think we have to wait and see what happens but it’s (the transfer) is not completely no.”
Reporter: Do you think he has got what it takes to survive in the Premier League physically?
A: “At this moment, he is still an Ajax player. There are no signatures. But I think he can be a surprise. If he moves to England – he can be a surprise.”
