£17 million flop likely to depart Spurs this week

Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful of finally parting company with forgotten striker Vincent Janssen this week, according to the Evening Standard.

The Dutch international has failed to live up to his £17million price tag after topping the goalscoring charts in his homeland, but could only muster two Premier League goals in his first season at Spurs and was shipped off on loan to Fenerbahce last season. They are keen to sign the player, but are said to be looking to prioritising another loan offer.

The 24-year-old was left out of Tottenham’s squad for the tour of the USA which has added more fuel to the fact that his time at the club is numbered.

Fernando Llorente was another striker who was brought into try and relieve the goalscoring burden upon Harry Kane’s shoulders, but has also struggled in a Spurs shirt.

The Spaniard, however has been included in the USA tour squad but would be allowed to leave the club.

Tottenham need to address the fact that Kane and Heung-min Son need help, but is Daniel Levy going to put his hand in his pocket? I very much doubt it.
