“2016/17 Wanyama needed” – Some fans react to the Spurs team vs Ajax

The teams for tonight’s Champions League clash between Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur was recently announced.

Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection for the biggest match for the club in a generation.

His side must overturn a 1-0 deficit from last Tuesday night’s first leg in North London if they are to progress to the final where the winner will face Liverpool following their dramatic win against Barcelona at Anfield.

Jan Vertonghen starts after missing the match against Bournemouth with a facial injury and will wear a protective mask. Heung-min Son also returns following his one match European suspension.

Tottenham’s two previous Champions League away games against Dutch opposition ended in draws with a grand total of 10 goals, an average of 5 goals per game. Also, since the start of 2018, Spurs have won only one of their six Champions League away games, a 1-0 victory at Dortmund in this season’s round of 16 (D3 L2).

This is what some Spurs fans have been saying on Twitter.
