Report: Spurs linked with move for £30million-rated midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell.

The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the Canaries midfielder, who is also interesting Manchester United and neighbours Manchester City.

The 21-year-old is valued at £30million by the Premier League strugglers and has scored six goals in the top flight this season (BBC) bettered by only their top marksman Teemu Pukki.

Cantwell is under contract at Carrow Road until 2022 and has impressed in his debut season in England’s top league.

Spurs face stiff competition for his signature with Manchester City said to have been tracking the player who has already represented England Under-17s and U21s level for several years.

Spurs have a track record of signing young talent having previously recruited Danny Rose, Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon, Jack Clarke, Dele Alli and Ryan Sessegnon.

Opinion

Cantwell could help to fill the inevitable void which will be left by Christian Eriksen when he walks away at the end of the season.
