Agent confirms Spurs bid rejected for Uruguay international

Palermo have rejected an offer from Tottenham to sign Uruguay international Abel Hernandez, according to the player’s agent.

Reports in Italy claimed the Barclays Premier League side had made a 10million euro (almost £8.9million) bid to acquire the services of the 20-year-old forward.

When asked about Tottenham’s offer, Hernandez’s agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito said to calciomercato.it: “It’s true.

“But for the time being I know (Palermo president Maurizio) Zamparini has turned down the offer, although I do not know what the figure was.

“If indeed it was 10million euros then it would be considered too low as the value of the player in the market is of 20million euros.

“The transfer market has just started so we will see what happens.”

  1. He scored 2 goals in 22 games last year not exactly prolific!!! I'm just wondering who is available who actually scores who we could afford, there seems to be an abundage of mediocre strikers available at ridiculous prices damiao, falcou, could be pipe dreams even dare i say drogba or adebayour, we'll probably end up with kenwyne jones or carlton cole ffs

  2. I fully expect us to wait until the last day of the transfer window before panic buying some average shooter like Rodallega or Kevin Doyle.

I'll end myself if we get another Fraizer Campbell.

  3. tim you took the words out of my mouth mate.instead of mediocre lets train up some youngsters for first team action.throw em in at the deep end.i think we'll be surprised
