Agent reveals there was interest in Eriksen last summer for a huge amount of money

Christian Eriksen’s agent has revealed that three clubs were interested in signing the Tottenham Hotspur player last season for a substantial amount of money.

The midfielder has today revealed that he would like to leave the club for a fresh challenge this summer having been in North London since joining from Ajax in the summer of 2013 (Ekstra Bladet).

Eriksen has just twelve months left to run on his current contract and has shown no apparent appetite to commit his future to Tottenham.

Daniel Levy is highly unlikely to allow the Danish international to run his contract down and walk away for free next summer given the fact at 27, Eriksen should be at the height of his powers.

Some Spurs fans will certainly disagree with that notion, given the fact that he has been largely anonymous with his performances over the past few months.

His agent, Martin Schoots revealed that Spurs could have cashed in for a large sum of money.

Schoots told Standard Sport: “Last season there were three clubs, two English and one foreign, interested in paying a huge amount to Spurs.

“For the club it was then a no-go area and for Christian not a must-have. I have the impression we are in a new situation now.”
