Agent reveals what he told Mourinho over 13-goal forward potentially joining Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur found themselves short of attacking options earlier this season.

Harry Kane suffered a torn hamstring during the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton which increased the goalscoring burden on Heung-min Son.

It appeared as if the South Korean was going to step up to the plate once more when he netted twice in a 3-2 win against Aston Villa, only for it to be confirmed after the match that he had sustained a fractured arm.

With the prolific pair both on the sidelines, Spurs struggled to put the ball in the back of the net which certainly highlighted the need for another forward to bolster the squad.

One player who has been linked with a move to North London is Lille’s Victor Osimhen.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a healthy goalscoring record in Ligue 1 this season having netted 13 times in 27 appearances (transfermarkt).

Osimhen’s agent Ariyo Igbayilola has played down the possibility of the Nigerian joining Tottenham due to the presence of Harry Kane.

Igbayilola insists that Osimhen needs to be playing week in, week out and would have to play second fiddle to the England captain at the Champions League finalists.

“We told Mourinho that if he wants Victor, will Harry Kane be leaving? If Harry Kane is still playing for Tottenham will Victor play? Because he will always be benched for him,” Igbayilola told Nigerian news outlet TheCable.

“Kane is their number one striker and he is the captain of England; all this will always work for him in the club but at Victor’s detriment.

“He [Osimhen] needs a club where he will always play full games week in, week out. Not to be kept on the bench.”
