Arsenal regain some bragging rights back over Spurs

After beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League, some Tottenham Hotspur fans took great pleasure in witnessing Arsenal lose 1-0 to Belarusian minnows BATE Borisov in the away leg of their Europa League tie.

The Gunners fans did try and get some payback when their Under-23 side beat their Tottenham counterparts 4-0 in Premier League 2 last night.

Wayne Burnett’s side found themselves 1-0 down after just three minutes when Amaechi’s low ball into the box from the right was turned in by Willock,

Spurs went further behind on 25 minutes from the penalty spot and added a third seven minutes later.

After the break, Arsenal had found the back of the net just two minutes into the second half to compound
the misery of their North London rivals.

In reality, Spurs got off lightly with a 4-0 drubbing and it could have easily been more.

The players must now put the defeat behind them and instead focus on the upcoming Premier League International Cup fixture against Dinamo Zagreb on February 26th.

Despite the defeat, Spurs fans can take solace in the fact that the first team are ten points ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League and are on course to finish above them for the third successive season.
