Arsenal and Spurs to battle for £30m winger?

Arsenal and Tottenham both want to sign Leicester City’s 26-year-old winger Riyad Mahrez, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Algerian international stated his intention to leave the former Premier League champions during the summer, but a move to Italian outfit Roma failed to materialise after both clubs could not agree a fee.

Leicester were said to be holding out for £50million for Mahrez, but would now take in the region of £30million.

Arsenal are probably more in need of landing Mahrez, with the Alexis Sanchez and the invisible Mesut Ozil out of contract at the Library come the end of the season. That being said, Mahrez would add some much needed width to the Tottenham attack, should Pochettino be tempted in trying to land the player.

Personally, I would be surprised if we tried to spend £30million during the January transfer window, typically Tottenham like to conduct their business in the summer to try and limit inflated mid-season transfer values.
