Arsene Wenger aims sly dig at Tottenham after Jurgen Klopp scoops award

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has aimed a cheeky dig in the direction of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Frenchman congratulated Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool’s last minute winner against Jose Mourinho’s side on Wednesday night.

Roberto Firmino’s 90th-minute header proved to be the winner at Anfield to take the Reds to the top of the Premier League table at the expense of Tottenham.

Wenger was responsible for announcing the winner of the Best FIFA Men’s Coach award on Thursday, which Klopp picked up for the second successive year after guiding his side to their first Premier League title and the club’s sixth success in the Champions League.

Wenger said to Klopp: “You have two really great days! Last night, you win in the last minute and today you win the best coach of the year, congratulations!”

Wenger should potentially look to keep his cheeky quips to himself until Arsenal are performing better than the white half of North London.

Arsenal’s Premier League woes continued last night when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Everton which has kept them in fifteenth position in the table.
