AVB gives injury update ahead of Chelsea clash

We can breath a sigh of relief after both Aaron Lennon and Mousa Dembele have been passed as fit to face Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Both players started the match against Southampton on Saturday; Dembele had to be replaced early on during the match while Lennon was taken off on 60 minutes after the Spurs pair still had some muscle problems which could have been worse if they had played on.

AVB is holding his cards close to his chest on whether either will be fully fit to start the match and is preferring to leave Rafa Benitez guessing.

“Mousa and Aaron will be selected, whether or not they will be available is something we prefer to hold onto and let people know when we get there,” AVB told the official Spurs site.

“They had discomfort and tightness against Southampton and we decided not to risk them.

“As we took that decision, it means they are still in the frame for making this game.

“We have one player recovered, Jake Livermore, and three players out – Sandro, Gallas and Kaboul.”
